Unfortunate times two

In what can only be described as a bizarrely tragic event, a Baptist minister from Waco TX was electrocuted yesterday. He was standing in the baptistery, touched a microphone, and received what turned out to be a fatal shock. It is a tragedy; a 33-year old man, married, father of a 3 and a 5 year old, suddenly taken. You just shake your head, try to make some sense of it, and pray for strength and sustenance for his family.

I listen to WTOP news radio on my 3 minute drive to the Exxon to get the day’s supply of cubicle sustenance goodies, prior to listening to podcasts and MP3s on my 45 minute drive to work. I heard their report on the incident. At the end of the straight scripted reportage, they had a clip of an interview with one of the parishioners who was at the service when the accident happened. In a typical reporter question about her “feelings” after the incident, the parishioner started her reply with “It was a shock..”.

You can’t make up stuff like this.

To the family of the Rev. Kyle Lake, my heartfelt condolences.

Oh, great. You made me laugh out loud after reading that. Now I’m going to hell.
