Dave Slusher throws down the gauntlet in this post: Evil Genius Chronicles » Boycott Sony.

I’d previously posted about it here, and did my usual “Oh, well, if ya gotta run Windows…” spiel.

This time it’s different; this is not about Windows, or even Microsoft. This is about another major corporation attempting to take control of a hardware device, owned and paid for by their customer, with not so much as a how-dee-do. Not being a Windows user, I think from what I’ve read that the DRM methodology used could be very easily exploited by the nefarious, to do serious damage to unsuspecting purchasers of Sony CDs. Many of these folks (I’d guess) don’t have the time or technical proficiency to clean up the mess, providing they realize they’ve got a problem.

So, let’s go a step further:

1) If someone would make available a “Boycott Sony” badge, I’d put it up on my blog. (I may need some help with the HTML stuff, in view of the trainwrecks I’ve left at Dave’s site in the past).

2) I am willing to compile a list of the SonyBMG artists, in the interests of customer information, and would make that available to any blogger who wants it here at tbbs for download to their own sites.
