The proper sentiment

I think I found this post via the Boycott Sony weblog. I wish I could have read the items he linked in there, but they’re all in German. I especially liked this part:

On the other hand I want to congratulate Sony: You make it way too easy to not like you and to search for other ways to get music. So for the future it will be quite simple for me: When I see on Amazon or in my local record store that a CD is published or (the boolean) produced by Sony-BMG, I won’t buy it, no matter how much I want the music. And whenever I this is the case, I will also write a mail to the artists and inform them about why I didn’t buy their work.

One of the ten billion butterfly sneezes has spoken, I agree, and will do likewise.

    Hi :)

Yeah, my problem is, that my primary sources of such news are german news sites. IMO probably the coolest solution of this whole problem would be, if the content producers would allow private people to simply make translations of their content (since automatical stuff is still more or less unusable IMO). :)

But I doubt somehow, that heise.de or golem.de have any information, major services like the bbc don’t :)

Thanks, zeroK. I’ve had little luck with auto-translations myself. I really liked what you had to say in the post I cited; no matter how badly Sony behaved here, one has to decide how he will react. It’s cool to advocate a course of action, and to spread the word. And letting the artist know is a good thing to do.

Come back anytime; we never close :)

    I definitely will :)

A couple of days ago a friend of mine also thought about another … let’s call it more direct way to let Sony know about the real issue behind this. Perhaps I will write about it somewhen in the future :)
