MSNBC has an article saying that a U.S. Court has shutdown three internet companies for distributing spyware along with ringtones, “background music for blogs”1, and other similar items. The FTC has ordered the downloads stopped, and the companies’ assets have been frozen.
Other than the delivery mode, what’s the difference between these companies and Sony? Can someone like me who isn’t impacted directly by Sony file an FTC complaint in this case? If not, would someone who is impacted please do so?
