As I mentioned here, Quicken has released a new “stability” update for Quicken 2006 for Mac. I installed it the other night; tonight, I had the distinct displeasure of trying it for the first time.
I had my payment recorded in Quicken Bill Pay, and hit send. I then got prompted for my PIN, I entered that, only to note that the “OK” button was greyed out, and that my only option was to “change PIN”. OK, try that. It now wants my old PIN, and new PIN twice. Standard stuff. I try that; no soap. I try again; nada.
Off to the QBP website, to enter the payment, a trivial payment for the mortgage. The website is more than happy to accept my PIN, and we’ll be living indoors for yet another month.
To anyone along the way to whom I’ve extolled the virtues of Quicken/Quicken Bill Pay: “honest, it used to be really great.” Now, it’s worse than useless. Avoid it. Life’s too short. Quicken sucks.
