Oh, what could have been. I was correct in keeping Dale Jr yesterday, and not trading for Kasey Kahne. Tony Stewart ran out of gas with a lap to go, dropping him from 3rd to 34th, and Jeff Gordon wrecked Matt Kenseth(on my team) with 3 to go, dropping Matt from 1st to 22nd. Matt ran out of gas shortly thereafter, so would have dropped without any help from Jeff. As it was, I finished the day with 1052 points, not a terrible effort. Add the points that coulda’, shoulda’ been, and I’d have finished the day in the 1200 point range. C’est la vie.
As it was, I finished 2601 out of 8563 teams for the first half of the season; not bad at that. Now, for the second half, point totals are reset, I can pick a new crew, and we go racin’ off into the fall.
Jeff Gordon is going to wreck the wrong guy at some point, and someone will give Jeffy the clock-cleaning he so richly deserves.
