West Virginia’s lone potato chip manufacturer is abandoning its low-fat frying recipe after objections from its customers. These customers’ objections translated to a 6% drop in sales.
And the money quote from the article:
But the new chip drew immediate reactions from customers who said if they wanted healthy, they wouldn’t be eating chips.
Very well put.
Good gravy, you can order a three-pound box of these chips for a measly $8.00 delivered. Wonder if they’d be good smothered in gravy? I may have to activate the tbbs-land test kitchen and try that out.

LOL, great quote. And you can actually order these things? Are they any good?
I’m an Grandma Utz man through and through. Kettle-fried, American homestyled goodness. Yum!
There’s a local chip producer that has yucca, sweet potato, and other root-like edibles that are a staple of PR eating. They’re so good and tasty, they don’t add salt to their product, and they really don’t have to!
Even then, they’re nothing like Grandma Utz’s chips.
I’ve never tried them. But, yep, 3 pounds for 8 bucks. Available online.
I gotta agree aabout Utz chips. I’m a classic ridged chip man myself. If we ever leave the East Coast, I’ll have to order them online.
