This little trip of yours has been unbelievable. Give my guys a shot: websitesource.com. I don’t think I’ve ever given them anything but my Amex card. Been there for six-plus years, starting with the campground business. In fact I think my contact address is still el rancho. They work just fine with 3rd-party registrars, FWTW.
I don’t have ssh, and I’ve seen you mention that, but I’ve never needed it – I always found some way to get done what I wanted done. All I do is run blogs, though, so it’s not a big deal to me to futz thru the purty control panels. Their SW levels seem to be pretty with it, but I’m also not jumping on every upgrade the day it hits the download sites. I haven’t checked for the WP2.1 reqs, to be specific.
I just fired up WP2.1 on a test domain…no problems yet.
