Sometimes, your hometown paper renders good news. In this case, SWMBO and I read that my first boss and his wife are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Their actual wedding date is August 25, but when you get the paper at post office speed, and combine that with native sloth on my part1, the congratulatory greeting is made now. SWMBO will mail the card tomorrow.
I appreciate Ed & Joan for giving a young, dumb kid2 his first job. That humble start has taken me from coast-to-coast, and I never would have thought that in the early seventies. I figured I’d be selling Chevys by now, still living back home.
That wasn’t to be, and there are few regrets. I do miss small town Kansas life, though.
So, to Eddie & Joan, Happy Anniversary, thanks for all you’ve done, and best wishes for many happy returns of the occasion.
