That’s the code name of a weekend initiative in the District of Columbia to put every police officer on the streets, in 8-hour shifts, through the weekend. This is in response to a raft of shootings earlier in the week. I was just watching the news coverage of the initiative, when I heard a DC police spokesperson utter these profound words:

The common denominator in all these shootings is that people are shooting one another.

Perhaps Yogi Berra could be a spokesman as well. Thanks, DC, for making Northern Virginia seem like the promised land.
