Fictional Birds can Too Fly

The Kansas Jayhawks have another date with destiny on Monday, as they have advanced to the championship round in the men’s NCAA basketball tournament. My little bride and I will be tuned in at 9:21 EDT on Monday, as the Jayhawks take on Memphis for the crown.
My only regret is that I can’t [...]

Beak ‘em

Kansas vs North Carolina. A college basketball match for the ages.

Found via the Twitter

I just noticed somebody found this old blog via the Twitter. My readership could be crossing into double digits any day now.

Twitter in Tank

My natural sensitivity renders it unthinkable that I use the acronym form of this post’s title. I check the Twitter a few times a day, much like e-mail. Just now, I got the overly cute “Something is Technically Wrong” twitter advisory.

CREATEively Yours

Only two weeks until CREATEsouth, 2008. Still plenty of time to register for this free conference for the rest of us.
I’d be there myself; life has, for better or worse, intervened, and I’ll be watching from afar yet again. The rest of you, if you have any hankering to visit beautiful Myrtle Beach SC [...]

Northern Virginia Suckage, #21679

I just got back from some banking1 and beer-cooler stocking errands. There’s a 7-11 Express around the corner that stocks our everyday beer of choice2; this store is located in a strip mall3 that is also home to a Home Depot. On arrival at the 7-11, I was greeted with what I thought was [...]

Pigman, Open that Store!

Well, it’s happened again; we’re out of Pigman’s Sauce. A coworker brought me in a bottle, and when that’s gone, it’s gone. The Pigman has been redoing his website; thus far, there’s no Store tab. I used the website contact form to make this plaintive request:
I’m out of sauce for the first time [...]

Hoops tonight

Memphis/UCLA at 6PM, followed by North Carolina/Kansas thereafter. We’re making lasagna, salad, and bread, something that’s a no-brainer to throw together in advance, and can be ready by gametime. In such a fashion, we can be nourished whilst absorbing all the exciting action.
This is a first for me; my picks for the Final Four are [...]

Go, June Bug!

Earnhardt Jr. earns pole for Sunday’s Texas Cup race
I guess the switch to Hendrick Motorsports is a good thing for Junior. It’s not bad on his fans, either; those who had a #8 tattoo need merely to juxtapose another 8, and they’re back in the game.
