Week on, Week off
One more week in my shabby cubicle in a nondescript building in a nondescript industrial park. The next week, it’s an Al Bundy vacation of sorts. My little bride and I plan to give our townhouse a good dunging-out and rearranging.
For the first time, we’ll rent a space from Public Storage or somesuch like place, and move valuable dreck from our house to there1. I never thought I’d pay to have crap stored. But we need the space, and that dreck we store will hopefully grace another house, in a land far away from Northern Virginia, at some later time.
In the interim, we’ll have a nice, tidy, and neat place. That’s my story, anyhow,

tbbs is now proudly powered by WordPress 2.2.3. My simple-minded upgrade script placed something where it didn’t belong, so I resorted to my old command line approach of copying stuff around by hand. The value of a good backup was brought home yet again.

In the meantime, the race doesn’t start until 8PM EDT, the better for NASCAR to vie for prime-time ratings points. The business of NASCAR is business, after all. And there’s NHRA qualifying for the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals right now, on ESPN2. With six big hours of finals to be telecast tomorrow.

Friday Nights
SWMBO and I were up far too late last night, or far too early this morning, depending on your point of view. We’re big fans of the TV series 24. We bought DVDs of the early seasons that were aired before we got hooked on the show. Last evening, we watched far too many episodes in succession.
We complain that the weekly hour-long episode of the show is not long enough; 6-8 episodes back-to-back may be a little too much.
We had a blast though; we enjoy the show, and more importantly, each other’s company.
