NASCAR HotPass Lineup

With 4 races remaining in the Chase for the Nextel Cup, it comes as no major shock that today’s HotPass drivers are all in the Chase. And the lineup for today’s running of the Pep Boys Auto 500 from superfast Hot-Lanta Motor Speedway looks like this:

795 – Matt Kenseth, #17.
796 – Jeff Burton, #31.
797 – Jeff Gordon, #24.
798 – Denny Hamlin, #11.
799 – Tony Stewart, #20.

My sad sack fantasy racing team has been on the skids for weeks now; I’ve tried various trading and realignment schemes, all of which have made things worse. Being out of trade tokens as I am, and unwilling to buy more tokens, I’m gonna ride out the season with the team I have. They aren’t a bad lot, at that.

NASCAR HotPass Lineup

As we roll on with the Chase, the Nextel Cup Chasers rule the DirecTV airwaves tomorrow, for the running of the Subway 500 from Martinsville VA.  And the lineup looks like:
795 – Carl Edwards, #99
796 – Kevin Harvick, #29
797 – Martin Truex Jr, #1
798 – Denny Hamlin, #11
799 – Tony Stewart, #20

My little bride and I are safely in Roanoke, preparing to head a little further south tomorrow.

NASCAR HotPass Lineup

For tonight’s running of the Bank of America 500 from Lowe’s Motor Speedway1, we have the following, all of whom are in the Chase for the Nextel Cup:

795 – Matt Kenseth, #17
796 – Kevin Harvick, #29
797 – Jeff Gordon, #24
798 – Denny Hamlin, #11
799 – Tony Stewart, #20

Saturday Night racin’, under the lights, the way it oughta be. And that frees up tomorrow afternoon to devote full attention to the old pigskin.

NASCAR HotPass Lineup

For today’s UAW-Ford 500 from the high banks of Talladega Superspeedway, the following Nextel Cup Chasers constitute the lineup:

795 – Carl Edwards, #99
796 – Kevin Harvick, #29
797 – Jeff Gordon, #24
798 – Martin Truex, Jr, #1
799 – Jeff Burton, #31

This will be Dale Earnhardt Jr’s last run at Talladega in the legendary #8 Budweiser car. I thought that with his past success at the track, he might wind up back on channel 799 again, but it wasn’t to be.

It will also be the first superspeedway race using the Car of Tomorrow. I just saw a discussion of the car and superspeedways on NASCAR Performance on SpeedTV. They explained how the front bumper of the COT aligns better with the COT rear bumpers. This means that bump drafting is less prone to lift a car’s rear wheels off the track. Bootie Barker offered this comment on the subject:

The wreckin’ is gonna’ be impressive.

NASCAR HotPass Lineup

Those in the Chase for the Nextel Cup constitute the Hot Pass driver lineup for today’s running of the LifeLock 400 from Kansas Speedway. My little bride and I drove past the speedway a couple of years back; it’s a beautiful facility. I hope that my backside can grace one of the seats for a few hours of racin’ one of these years. Today, though, I have the teevee, and HotPass. And the lineup is:

795 – Martin Truex, Jr – #1
796 – Jeff Burton – #31
797 – Jeff Gordon – #24
798 – Denny Hamlin – #11
799 – Tony Stewart – #20

With 26 points separating the top six chasers, give that pigskin a break for a while this afternoon, and tune in, OK?

NASCAR HotPass Lineup

For today’s running of the Dodge Dealers 400, we have the following Chasers- channel/driver/car:

795 – Carl Edwards, #99
796 – Clint Bowyer, #07
797 – Jeff Gordon, #24
798 – Denny Hamlin, #11
799 – Jeff Burton, #31

The second race in the Chase. Try to catch a few laps, even if it’s interspersed with gridiron activity, OK?

UPDATE: The race is being held at Dover DE. I unaccountably omitted the venue.

NASCAR HotPass Lineup

The Chase is on; today’s lineup is 100% chasers; probably a good thing. Anyhow, here’s how the channels align for today’s running of the Sylvania 300 from New Hampshire International Speedway:

795 – Matt Kenseth, #17
796 – Kevin Harvick, #29
797 – Tony Stewart, #20
798 – Denny Hamlin, #11
799 – Jeff Burton, #31

And, you can buy HotPass for the remaining 10 races for $19.99, in case you want to be up close and personal for the Chase for the Nextel Cup. Two bucks a race; not a bad deal.

NASCAR HotPass Lineup

The Channel/Driver/Car grid for tonight’s running of the Sharp AQUOS 5001 shakes out like this:

795 – Tony Stewart, #20
796 – Clint Bowyer, #07
797 – Jeff Gordon, #24
798 – Juan Pablo Montoya, #42
799 – Dale Earnhardt JR, #8

I must head off to my fantasy racing site, hopefully to improve my team. Kurt Busch is peaking at the right time, and he’s on the pole; if the price is right, he’ll be on my team this week.

In the meantime, the race doesn’t start until 8PM EDT, the better for NASCAR to vie for prime-time ratings points. The business of NASCAR is business, after all. And there’s NHRA qualifying for the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals right now, on ESPN2. With six big hours of finals to be telecast tomorrow.

Good stuff.
