Card Trick

Hats off to the St Louis Cardinals. What a game! Riveting to read about the day after. I’m sure the broadcast was dramatic. The games last past my bedtime, and SWMBO wanted to watch ER, so I’m glad the Cards won, and that the game was one of those barnburners that make good next-day press.

Update: Having hitched my wagon to the Cards during the NLCS, I’ll stick with them through the World Series. That the Series will be devoid of New York teams makes me feel like a winner already.

Like Racing, Only Twisty

A huge WaaHHoo! to Kevin Harvick, and the entire Richard Childress Racing Crew, on winning today’s AMD at the Glen Nextel Cup race from Watkins Glen NY.

And to fantasy racers, I leave this testimony:

Team Pure Country Racing Drivers
for the AMD at The Glen
Results are as of lap 90 out of 90.
Current Points: 1123 Current Rank: 590

Pure Country Racing is my team, named for a George Strait song. Realize that those points don’t include laps lead bonuses, so there’s a few more points heading my way.

I’m just basking for the moment.

Having trouble with the neighbors?

Live across the street from a Comcast office? A Verizon office? Microsoft? The White House?

Want to be a “thought leader”? An “A-lister”?

Just wanna show the world your views?

Ok, then, quit typing on blogs, quit that podcasting, forget that citizen’s media, and get into gardening. This public service announcement brought to you totally without an InfoRooter.

How to do an Incident Broadcast

The Cable News Biggies roll on with continuous coverage of shots supposedly fired near the Rayburn Office Building. In case you pine for a career in broadcast “journalism”, some phrases to keep handy for this type of incident:

  • err on the side of caution …
  • … post 9/11 world …
  • … protocol …
  • abundance of caution
  • taking it in stride …
  • taking every precaution …
  • Don’t forget to ask inane questions during the press briefings. Oh, and bring your BlackBerry. These broadcasts, converted to DVD, could make one awesome drinking game.
